The story behind the artist
Originally from Salvador, BA, Brazil, I graduated in Architecture and Urbanism in 2015 and later completed an MSc in Environmental Engineering in Spain in 2019. That same year, I moved to the UK to improve my English and eventually made it my home.
Born in the late 80s and being from a Spanish immigrant family, I used to spend holidays in Galicia, where my parents are from. Since my teenage years, I had a dream of studying in Spain. It was my second home, and I nurtured a great love for that place, particularly for my mum's family.
They were always loving, considerate, and warm. Everything was done genuinely, out of true love and respect. With them, I learned what family love and respect really mean, and now, as an adult, I understand it better than ever.
If you were wondering how I ended up studying in Spain (instead of going straight to the UK, for example), this answers your question: I was awarded a sponsorship in 2017 and completed the course in 2019.
By that time, my older sister was already living in the UK, and the idea of coming to improve my English and have a new experience in another country and, this time, by her side, was incredibly appealing. We have always been close and shared many happy moments together. As soon as I completed my studies, in that same month, I packed my bags and left for a new adventure.
Since I graduated from architecture, everything I wanted was to work, pay my bills, and live my life: travelling, meeting new people, learning new languages, and eating new food. Once I started working in the UK, in October 2019, I remember waking up in my double bedroom, rented with my own money in a shared house: I was the happiest person on earth.
I had a minimum wage job, was improving my English and learning new skills. I saw myself working in a coffee shop: making coffee, baking pastries, preparing baguette sandwiches (maybe 80 in 2 hours? We had to be fast), organising shelves, greeting customers, cleaning tables, taking the waste out, learning what H&S means... Christmas pudding? What was that? Bakewells, shortbreads, pigs in blankets, Christmas turkey with gravy, sandwiches with cranberry sauce, chicken pot pie soup (bleh, sorry). Sooner than later, those words became part of my new world.
The coffee shop where I worked, EAT., was eventually acquired by Pret A Manger, and the branch at Trafford Centre (where I worked) was scheduled to close because there was already another Pret nearby. By that time, I was offered a new job at ZARA and soon, the fashion industry became my new world: new styles, new vocabulary, new training, new people, a new routine, and a new shared house. By that time we were facing COVID 19 and I remember everything happened to me out of God’s hands and timing.
In this way, 6+ years passed by, like in a blink of an eye. Over these years, I worked in customer-facing roles across retail, hospitality, and customer service, both in person and remotely. These experiences helped me develop resilience, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for connecting with people from different backgrounds. I learned things we don’t learn at any school or university, I was living the real and hard world: shift working hours, early morning and late night shifts, customers hugs and complains, the good and the bad, like all worth experience requires.
I was happy at some point, then everything started to go wrong. The enthusiasm I used to have, the huge and outstanding happiness I used to feel that would happily take me out of bed on a daily basis, was suddenly transformed into exhaustion, and grievance.
In 2025, after a few setbacks, I decided to take a step back and explore a new direction. While studying digital marketing and reflecting on my future career path, I reconnected with a long-standing creative side of myself through painting. What started as a hobby soon became the foundation of CauArt Creations.
Through my artwork, I enjoy experimenting with colour, texture, and mixed media techniques to create original pieces inspired by nature, emotions, coastal landscapes, and everyday moments of beauty.
Every painting featured here represents part of my creative journey. My hope is that these pieces bring colour, inspiration, and a personal touch to the spaces they find a home in.
Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you here regularly.
